How do Solar Sun Rings work?
Solar Sun Rings are composed of two layers of heavy duty U.V. resistant vinyl. The top sheet absorbs the light from the sun and channels it to the lower layer. The bottom layer absorbs the sunlight and converts the energy to heat. The rest of the sunlight passes through the Solar Sun Rings to the bottom of the pool for deep water heating. When the sun is absent, the air in between the two layers act as a blanket to insulate the heat trapped during the day. There are six magnets located around the circumference. These magnets improve your pool’s clarity and reduce your pool’s hardness. In addition the magnets are used to link the rings together to create a raft across your pool. The magnetic strength is strong, but weak enough so the average person will be able to remove one ring from the raft. In addition, if someone or an animal accidentally falls in the pool while the raft is intact, the magnets will break apart, preventing entrapment. Solar Sun Rings are designed to be compatible with automatic pool cleaners. If a suction hose accidentally catches a ring, the ring will break apart from the raft, allowing the pool cleaner to function.

How do I know if I need Solar Sun Rings with Water Anchors?
If you live in an area that is particularly windy, we definitely recommend purchasing Solar Sun Rings with Water Anchors. The water anchor is composed of an additional overlapping piece of vinyl on the bottom. The channel is automatically filled as the ring enters the pool and automatically drains when pulled out.

How many Solar Sun Rings do I need for my own pool?
Each Solar Sun Ring’s diameter is 5 feet long. It is recommended that you purchase enough Solar Sun Rings to cover about 75% of your pool’s surface. In order to determine how many you’ll need, you can use this coverage calculator.

What kind of pools are Solar Sun Rings compatible with?
Every kind of pool! Solar Sun Rings can be used with chlorine or saltwater pool systems. They are also compatible with in ground and above ground pools too. Leaf catchers, pool cleaners, and other common accessories are all compatible with Solar Sun Rings.

I live by myself, can I apply and remove Solar Sun Rings by alone or are they too heavy?
Solar Sun Rings have a diameter of 5 feet which is definitely manageable for most adults. They are a great pool cover option for someone who lives alone or does their pool maintenance by themselves.

What if someone falls in my pool while my Solar Sun Rings are in the pool?
The rafting magnets will break apart once the person or animal swims to the surface, allowing the them to breathe and swim to safety. Many pets and people die each year because of entrapment with one piece pool covers. Solar Sun Rings were designed to prevent entrapment.

Do Solar Sun Rings have a warranty?
AZ Pool Supplies Inc. does not offer a warranty for Solar Sun Rings, but the manufacturer upholds a two year warranty.

How do Solar Sun Rings reduce water loss, reduce chemical usage, and keep my pool healthy?
Water and pool chemicals can’t evaporate through the Solar Sun Rings. This will allow you to conserve water and save chemicals about equal the percentage of the surface covered by the rings. The more space in your pool is covered by Solar Sun Rings, the less evaporation occurs. If you’re satisfied with the temperature reached by your rings, you may flip them over. This will conserve your water level without significantly heating the water.

Do I need to charge my Solar-Breeze?
The Solar-Breeze runs completely off the power of the sun. In order to charge the unit, all you have to do is place it outside. No hoses or cords are required to run the cleaner.

But what if it’s cloudy outside? Will my Solar-Breeze still work?
Yes! The Solar-Breeze is equipped with storage batteries that charge during the day while the cleaner is running, so you can operate the device up to several hours once the sun goes down. When the battery is running low, the Solar-Breeze will automatically shut itself down. This usually happens at night after the cleaner has been in use for several hours. The unit will remain in a stand-by mode until it receives enough sunlight the next day to run again. Once it has enough energy to start, the Solar-Breeze will automatically start cleaning your pool again.

How does the Solar-Breeze reduce my energy bill?
Because the Solar-Breeze is powered by the sun, you don’t have to pay anything to run the cleaner. By cutting back on the time your pool pump is used, you not only save money, but reduce your carbon footprint which helps the environment too. In fact, the Solar-Breeze pays for itself by the end of the first swimming season by cutting down on maintenance and operating costs. .

What kind of things does the Solar-Breeze pick up?The Solar-Breeze can collect bugs, leaves, dirt, pollen, dust, and just about anything that enters a swimming pool. These various things float on the top of your pool for a few hours before sinking to the bottom. Before they get the chance to sink, the Solar-Breeze finds them and the front paddle scoops the debris into its collection tray.

What if my Solar-Breeze gets stuck against a wall, corner, or rock?
If the Solar-Breeze encounters a wall, it simply uses the bumper wheels on the front to propel itself in another direction. If that’s ineffective, the Solar-Breeze will put automatically put itself in reverse to back away from the obstacle, then it will put itself back in forward motion and continue to clean your pool.

So if I own a Solar-Breeze I can get rid of my floating chlorine dispenser, right?
Absolutely! The Solar-Breeze has its own chemical dispenser. With floating chlorine dispensers, it’s difficult to gauge whether chlorine is being dispensed evenly, but because the Solar-Breeze is constantly on the move, it distributes the chlorine evenly. This helps control the growth of algae and other unwanted bacterias. The Solar-Breeze can cary up to two 3″ chlorine tablets.

How does the Solar-Breeze save me time?
As long as you have the Solar-Breeze, your pool is always “swim ready.” The cleaner eliminates hand skimming completely. All you have to do is jump in!
